PHRS Hospitality Experts, in collaboration with our international recruitment partner, is looking for experienced Bar Waiters / Waitresses to join the Food & Beverage team onboard a leading luxury cruise line.

About the Role

As a Bar Waiter / Waitress, you will be responsible for providing professional and personalized beverage service across assigned bars, lounges, and other onboard venues.

The role combines excellent guest interaction with strong beverage knowledge, efficient service, and attention to detail. You will work closely with Bartenders and the broader Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth operations and consistently high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, professional, and personalized beverage service to guests.
• Welcome and engage with guests while maintaining a warm and polished service approach.
• Take beverage orders accurately and ensure timely delivery.
• Develop strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, non-alcoholic beverages, and other products available onboard.
• Assist guests with beverage selections and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Support beverage sales through knowledgeable recommendations and upselling.
• Learn and remember guest preferences to provide a more personalized experience.
• Ensure bars, lounges, and service stations are properly prepared before and throughout service.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of assigned service areas.
• Work closely with Bartenders to ensure efficient preparation and delivery of beverage orders.
• Assist with cocktail receptions, events, tastings, and other onboard Food & Beverage activities when required.
• Handle glassware, equipment, and beverage products carefully and according to operational standards.
• Follow proper procedures for orders, billing, and point-of-sale transactions.
• Comply with Public Health, hygiene, sanitation, and food & beverage safety standards.
• Maintain professional grooming, appearance, and conduct at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in a multicultural and fast-paced working environment.
• Participate in required safety training, drills, and onboard duties.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Bar Waiter / Waitress, Bar Server, Beverage Server, or similar guest-facing Food & Beverage position.
• Previous experience in a 5-star hotel, luxury restaurant, upscale bar, fine dining venue, or cruise environment.
• Good knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Confident recommending and upselling beverage products.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
• Professional appearance and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an international and multicultural team.
• Fluent English is required. Additional languages are an advantage.
• Must be physically and medically fit for shipboard employment.
• Valid STCW certification or ability to meet applicable shipboard certification requirements.
