PHRS Hospitality Experts, in collaboration with one of our international recruitment partners, is currently seeking experienced Waiters for an exciting career opportunity onboard a leading luxury cruise line.

About the Role

The Waiter is responsible for delivering refined, personalized and consistent dining service, creating memorable experiences for guests while maintaining premium service standards.

The role combines exceptional table service with strong menu and beverage knowledge, attention to guest preferences and confident recommendations that contribute to guest satisfaction and restaurant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, professional and attentive table service.
• Present menus, explain dishes and assist guests with their selections.
• Identify and accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies and individual preferences.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of ingredients, preparation methods and basic wine pairings.
• Take and process guest orders accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with culinary, beverage and support teams to ensure seamless service.
• Assist with wine, signature beverage and non-alcoholic beverage service.
• Maintain assigned service areas fully prepared, clean and organized.
• Ensure the correct handling and presentation of china, glassware, silverware and linen.
• Support buffet and casual dining operations when required.
• Participate in inventory counts and assist with operational equipment control.
• Support and train Assistant Waiters and new team members.
• Participate in daily briefings, menu presentations and ongoing training.
• Maintain high grooming, hygiene and professional presentation standards.
• Ensure compliance with Public Health, HACCP, sanitation and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a 5-star dining environment, either shipboard or land-based.
• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Knowledge of international cuisine, premium service standards and wine basics.
• Familiarity with fine-dining practices and Public Health regulations.
• Strong guest service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure.
• Confidence using POS systems and tablet-based ordering systems.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and guest-focused approach.
• Professional demeanor and high personal integrity.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Additional languages are an advantage.
• Physically and medically fit for shipboard employment.
