About the Role

The Bartender is responsible for delivering a refined, personalized and consistent beverage experience across assigned bars and lounges onboard.

The role includes the preparation and service of cocktails, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages, while maintaining exceptional presentation and service standards. Bartenders also contribute to beverage revenue through confident recommendations, guest engagement and upselling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wines and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Deliver warm, personalized and attentive guest service.
• Recommend cocktails, premium spirits, wines and other beverage selections.
• Maintain luxury presentation, cleanliness and atmosphere across assigned bar areas.
• Perform opening, mise-en-place, service and closing procedures.
• Ensure fridges, displays, ice bins, tools and bar equipment are fully stocked and operational.
• Prepare garnishes, syrups and other bar ingredients according to recipe and sanitation standards.
• Support beverage service for receptions, cocktail parties, tastings and onboard events.
• Complete stock transfers, requisitions and breakage reports accurately.
• Maintain portion control, minimize waste and protect product integrity.
• Maintain strong product knowledge across cocktails, wines, spirits, No/Low-alcohol beverages, coffee and cigars.
• Support beverage revenue through recommendations and upselling.
• Work closely with the beverage team to maintain smooth and consistent service.
• Comply with Public Health, HACCP, sanitation and safety standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of bartending experience in a 5-star hotel, luxury bar or cruise environment.
• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, classic cocktails, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Strong cocktail preparation, garnishing and beverage presentation skills.
• Familiarity with Public Health requirements and inventory control.
• Excellent communication and guest-engagement skills.
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced luxury environment.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Professional appearance and high standards of personal integrity.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Additional languages are an advantage.
• Physically and medically fit for shipboard employment.
